I always thought part of our purpose was to register voters.  I was surprised at our last meeting when I learned that we could not do that.  Then I discovered that our "Purpose" in our Club Express documentation contradicted this.

 

"The League of Women Voters is a non-partisan political organization which provides voter education and empowerment. The League registers voters, provides information on candidates and ballot issues."

 

I don't know where the wording is from.  I would like to have a discussion on this at the next Board meeting to be sure our Purpose is correctly worded.

 

By the way,  CE restricts the Purpose to 200 words.
